Tournament rules

  • Games to 15 points.
  • If the time cap is reached with none of the teams at 15 points, 2 points will be added to the leading team’s score after finishing the current point to form a new point cap. Despite the new point cap, the game is always won by reaching 15 points with a two-goal difference. Hard cap at 17.
  • 2 time outs / team / half. Time out 2 minutes.
  • Half time 10 minutes.

General information

Date: July 2-3, 2011 (2 days)

Venue: Kaupin urheilukeskus / Kauppi sports centre, Kuntokatu 5, 33520 Tampere, Finland. For directions, see this Google Maps link to the fields. (Two natural grass fields and two artificial ones. See photo: http://www.tampere.fi/kuvat/56j52Tsul/kaupinkentat2.jpg)

Game schedule: Saturday 9-21, Sunday 9-19. (We can adjust the schedule so that people travelling on Saturday have their first games as late as possible. Just be sure to inform us on time!)

Format: We can host up to 14 open teams and 8 women’s. The basic format will be a group stage followed by quarters and placement games. The group stage and possible quarters will be played on Saturday and the rest of the games on Sunday.

Payment deadline: June 15, 2011
There will be a refund of only 50% of fees for cancellations after June 15, 2011. There will be no refund of fees after June 22, 2011.

Food

The organising team will set up a food stand where you can buy a bite to eat. However, no meals will be provided at the fields.

There is also an ABC center with a 24/7 supermarket and a few restaurants within a 1-km walking distance from the fields. It is located at the intersection of Kekkosentie and Teiskontie streets.

Bus from the airport to Tampere city centre about 40 mins.
Train from Helsinki to Tampere city center about 1.5 hrs.
Bus from Tampere city center to the fields: about 15 mins. Get off at Tampere University Hospital bus stop. For bus routes, try the Tampere Public Transportation Journey planner and insert the departure and destination address.

What is the Championship Tour?

The Finnish Flying Disc Association would like to invite you to the Finnish Championship Tour Two. The Tour is a new tournament format for the Finnish National Championship Series.

With this decision to open up the Finnish national competition, the Finnish Flying Disc Association is looking to attract teams from the neighbouring countries to play against the best ultimate teams in Finland, and to further increase the level of competition.
